TOKYO, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Nikkei bounced back slightly on Friday in Tokyo after a sharp fall in the previous day.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average closed up 23.02 points, or 0. 25 percent, from Thursday at 9,110.00.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 2.57 points, or 0.34 percent, to 756. 38.
The gainers are utility suppliers, mining companies and land transport firms, and the losers included steelmakers, brokerage firms and transport equipment makers.
The turnover was about 1,027 billion yen (about 13.14 billion U. S. dollars).
