VIENNA, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- The UN nuclear agency expressed its readiness to resume the talk with Iran, according to a statement issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Tuesday.

The statement was made by IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano, after he met with the Iranian nuclear energy head Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani on Monday.

"I confirmed to Dr Abbasi that the Agency is committed to continued dialogue with the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed the readiness of Agency negotiators to meet with Iran's in the near future." Amano said.

He also highlighted that Iran should extend its full cooperation to the Agency, and a structured approach to clarify Iran's nuclear program needed to be agreed and implemented as soon as possible.
