Iran ready to resolve nuclear ambiguities: lawmaker

 • Boroujerdi said within the framework of talks with the P5+1, Iran is ready to resolve the ambiguities.
 • Boroujerdi said a recent resolution on Iran by the IAEA is "political and not technical and legal".
 • The resolution urged Iran to comply fully with all of its obligations under UNSC relevant resolutions.

TEHRAN, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- A senior Iranian lawmaker has said Tehran is ready to help to resolve all the ambiguities concerning Iran's nuclear program, Press TV reported Saturday.

Head of Iran's Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, said Friday that within the framework of talks with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (P5+1), the Islamic republic is ready to resolve the ambiguities and reach a point agreeable to both parties, according to the report.

Iran will take such measures "provided that some of the members of the group (P5+1) that hold a political view influenced by the U. S. policies, change their views and take action within the legal framework," Boroujerdi was quoted as saying.

Boroujerdi censured a recent resolution on Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), saying that "from the outset, we believed that the issued resolutions are political and not technical and legal."

"The Islamic republic is the only country which has, on numerous occasions, opened the doors of its nuclear facilities even to journalists and this indicates Iran's utmost good will in its peaceful nuclear activities," said the Iranian lawmaker.

The governing board of the IAEA approved Thursday a resolution expressing "serious concern" over Iran's disputed nuclear program.

The IAEA resolution urged Iran to comply fully with all of its obligations under the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council "without delay," including the application of the modified Code 3.1 and the implementation and prompt entry into force of the Additional Protocol.

The resolution said Iran "continues to defy the requirements and obligations" contained in the relevant IAEA Board of Governors and UN Security Council resolutions, including the continuing and expanding uranium enrichment activities, in particular at the Fordow fuel enrichment plant.

It said as Iran is not providing the necessary cooperation, the IAEA is unable to provide evidence that all nuclear material in Iran is in peaceful activities.

Iran is requested to provide access to relevant sites to the IAEA.

Iran's permanent representative to the IAEA, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, said Thursday that the resolution can only complicate the issue by politicizing it.

The conclusion reached in the resolution has been based on information from Western intelligence agencies, which, according to Soltanieh, was biased and contains distortion of facts.
