JAKARTA, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds members of Indonesian Muslim group Hiszbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) staged a protest in front of the U.S. Embassy here on Friday related to the production of an anti-Islam movie produced by allegedly American producers.

They said the movie, entitled "Innocence of Muslims", has insulted Islam as it mocks up Muslim's Prophet Muhammad, portraying him as a womanizer, child molester and has barbaric behavior. "That film is clearly insulting the prophet. What has the prophet done wrong against them," the HTI Spokesman Muhammad Ismail Yusanto said.

Ismail said using freedom of expression as an excuse to produce the insulting movie cannot be justified either.

"Islam also recognizes freedom, but it is not freedom that mocking up others," he said.

He added that the group chose to hold the protest in front of the U.S. embassy because most of people involved in the making of the movie were U.S. citizens.

The HTI group demanded the distribution of the movie be stopped, justice for those involved in the movie making.

"Anyone who insults Prophet Muhammad, be he is a Muslim or not, must be punished," Yusanto said. He added that U.S. government must find Sam Bacille, the one who allegedly produce the movie, and punish them.

The protest was heavily guarded by Indonesian police who deployed 350 police in the scene.

Violent and outrageous protests regarding the movie production sprawled in Cairo, Egypt, Benghazi, Libya and Sanaa, Yemen. The violent protest in Libyan U.S. consulate took the lives of U.S. diplomat in that country along with three other U.S. diplomatic staffs.

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had denounced the movie on Thursday for two reasons that consist of blasphemy on Islam and the repercussion from it that has took lives.
