Japan's July current account surplus falls 40.6 pct

TOKYO, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Japan's current account surplus declined 40.6 percent in July from a year earlier to 625.4 billion yen, according to the data released by the Japanese Finance Ministry on Monday.

It's the sixth consecutive monthly decline of the current account surplus since February.

The balance of international payments worsened for the 17th consecutive month, according to a report by the government.

Among key components, the balance of goods trade came to a deficit of 373.6 billion yen.
