--Seek best player in promoting harmonious and sustainable development between economy and environment
BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhuanet) -- "International Carbon-Value Award", under the guidance of UN system and international organizations, as well as the participation of domestic and overseas media, is a supreme honorable award established and organized by World Economic and Environmental Conference (WEC), which aims to seek and award best players and practitioners of low-carbon concept in their pursuit of harmonious and sustainable development between economy and environment.
The Organizer, from the perspective of “low-carbon strategy, applied practice and social value”, and “fundamental elements, innovative advantages, sustainable strength”, established comprehensive and hierarchical appraisal system. Its appraisal will adopt “Three makes One” (or Trinity ) model. Here "three" means three separate awards: namely, Carbon-Value Ecological Practice Award, Carbon-Value Innovative Value Award, Carbon-Value Social Citizen Award, whose winners shall meet corresponding appraisal standards respectively; here "one" means integrated award of above three, namely International Carbon-Value Award, and whose winner shall meet all the appraisal standards of above three awards.
The appraisal and selection activities will be performed by the jury of international agencies, industry organizations, economists, sociologists and famous media and so on. Via questionnaire, social investigation, appraisal by experts and media, the organizer will seek and select the best players of "carbon transformation action, carbon development efficiency and carbon social value", who will serve as practitioners, pilots and models, together with us, jointly push forward human’s ecological process.
The 2nd "International Carbon Value Award will be added two new special awards, namely, China Green and Low-Carbon City Award, which is directed against China's green and low-carbon development cities; and China Green-Benefit Enterprise Award, which is directed against enterprises dedicated to promoting China's green and low-carbon development, and having obtained green benefit.
“China Green and Low-Carbon City Award” is designed by the WEC research team. 50 cities candidates will be selected after preliminary survey and reports, of which 10 meeting with corresponding selection standards will be viewed as winners, 10 evaluation reports on the winners will be drafted; besides, the organizer will select 5 cities from the winners, giving professional support to them, and building them into International pilot cities on green and low-carbon cooperation.
China Green-Benefit Enterprise Award is designed by the WEC project team. 10 qualified enterprise candidates will be selected and viewed as winners from numerous candidates after a batch of survey, questionnaires, and expert appraisals, and 5 enterprises of the winners will be selected, with whom the organizer will sign cooperation memorandum and establish long-term cooperation mechanism; besides, according to their actual development phase and demands, the organizer will help them make development strategy, introduce international resources and professional forces, create more cooperation opportunity for them.
