JAKARTA, April 29 (Xinhua) -- An aftershock measuring 5.9 Richter scale struck off Aceh province of Sumatra island in Indonesia on Sunday, the country's Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.
The quake jolted at 10:00 a.m.Jakarta time (0300 GMT) with epicenter at 239 km southwest Simeulu island of Aceh and with the depth at 10 km under sea bed, the agency said.
The main shock with magnitude of 8.5 struck off Aceh earlier this month, killing ten people and left minor damages on infrastructures.
Indonesia sits on a vulnerable quake-hit zone where is called "the Pacific Ring of Fire."
