NEW DELHI, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed and two injured Wednesday at the site of the proposed South Korean steel giant POSCO project in the eastern Indian state of Orissa, reported Indo-Asia News Service.

The clash took place at Orissa's Jagatsinghpur district between villagers and workers over construction of a road, when hundreds of villagers opposed to POSCO's 12 billion U.S. dollars project in the area did not allow workers to carry out work.

Villagers hurled locally made crude bombs before fleeing. They also abducted two workers, according to the report.
