Returning travel boom of National Day holiday peaks on Friday

Today is the first working day after China's National Day holiday.

The country's railway network carried an average of 10 million passengers every day during the week. The peak was on Friday, where 12.5 million trips were made by train as people returned from their vacations. Some 650 trains were added nationwide to meet demand.

There were also over 82,000 commercial flights that carried close to 10 million people during the 7-day holiday. That's 11.6 % higher than that of last year. Hot spots included Beijing, Shanghai, Lhasa and Urumqi.
