BEIJING, Dec. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The Beijing-based correspondent for French news magazine L'Obs -- Ursula Gauthier -- has been refused renewed press credentials in China.
That was the word Saturday from Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang. Lu said at a daily press briefing that an article published November 18th by Gauthier was blatant propaganda for terrorism and the killing of innocent people.
Lu said the article provoked the strong indignation of the Chinese public. Lu also said that because Gauthier failed to apologize for her propaganda for terrorism, it was not proper for her to continue to report in China.
The spokesperson added that China has always protected the legitimate rights of foreign news agencies and journalists to do interviews and report in accordance with law but has zero tolerance for the propaganda of terrorism.
