BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- China's urban unemployment for the third quarter went up slightly from the previous quarter. That's according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
The urban unemployment rate was 4.05 percent at the end of the third quarter, slightly higher than 4.04 percent at the end of the previous three-month period. But that's still well below the annual target of less than 4.5 percent.
Over 10.66 million new jobs were added to the job market in the period of January to September. The ministry says China's job market maintains a relatively stable growth and no mass layoffs were witnessed in the monitoring period. The government aims to create at least 10 million new jobs this year.
