BEIJING, Oct.26 (Xinhuanet) -- South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) have wrapped up a week-long reunion event for families separated by the 1950-53 Korean War.
The jointly organized reunions took place at the DPRK's scenic Mount Kumgang resort. Most of the people were in their 80s and 90s. It was an emotional scene, as for many it could be the last time they see or hear from their relatives from the other side of the border.
The families had only 12 hours with each other, split into six sessions, including group lunches and dinners, and just one private meeting. No direct exchange of letters and telephone call has been allowed since 1953.
