BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- China has pledged to continue its participation in UN peacekeeping operations. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying made the statement at a daily press briefing.
"At the 70 anniversary peacekeeping summit held in the UN headquarters, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced a series of important decisions to support UN peacekeeping operations. This again shows China's responsibility and commitment to safeguard world peace.
China will continue to participate in UN peacekeeping operations, fulfil its due financial obligations in accordance with the payment capability principle established by the UN, pay its due payment of UN peacekeeping operations, and make contributions to world peace and security," Hua said.
