BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Foreign ministers from the US, Russia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are set to hold crisis talks on Syria in Austria.
US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Vienna Thursday ahead of the talks. He will be joined by Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, who is expected to arrive later Friday. Turkey's Foreign Minister Feri-dun Sinir-liog-lu, and Saudi Arabia's Adel al-Jubeir are both already in the Austrian capital. The meeting is expected to be tense, particularly given the differing views regarding the fate of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Ahead of the talks, al-Jubeir stressed there will be no end to the conflict until Assad is ousted from power, something the US and Turkey agree with. Russia remains the Assad administration's strongest ally.
