BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Earlier on Wednesday, President Xi Jinping visited Imperial College London. Accompanied by his wife Peng Liyuan, Xi attended a cultural event with Prince William and his wife Kate.
On Wednesday morning, the second day of his visit, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a stop at Imperial College London, one of most active academic and research partners for China in the UK.
The president was accompanied by his wife Peng Liyuan, Prince Andrew, and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, as he viewed the latest in medical robotics and listened to a presentation on big data.
The institution has about 2,000 Chinese students, the largest non-British group, and has partnerships with top Chinese universities including Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University.
It's also working with Chinese businesses -- including telecommunications giant Huawei .
Later, President Xi and Madame Peng joined the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at a creative industry event at Lancaster House.
The event celebrates existing and future cultural collaborations between the UK and China.
