BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Members of British Parliament, both from the House of Commons, and the House of Lords, gave their comments on Presidents Xi's speech. They said Xi Jinping's talking points about the China-UK relations are very important and impressive.
"I've heard a lot of special speeches. I've been a member for 23 years.This is certainly one of the most thoughtful and special ...final phrase is very important, that our relationship is growing and deepening. It's really an important thing," Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, member of The House of Commons, said.
"The speech is well measured, emphasize the long history, of both countries and our systems. The room was completely full. These great interests in parliament and in UK in this visit, and it's been a great start," Nathanael Ming-Yan Wei, member of House of Lords, said.
"President Xi made a very fine speech, not a very long one, but he got it absolutely right. Because he said it's an important visit, its an important relation. He mentions Shakespeare and other British authors, and he show he is a widely read man, and a man who wants to be a great friend of this country," Michael John Dobbs, member of House of Lords, siad.
