BEIJING, Oct.18 (Xinhuanet) -- China's Ambassador to the UK, Liu Xiaoming, said President Xi's upcoming state visit to the United Kingdom will open a new chapter of bilateral relations and usher in a "golden era" for China-UK ties.
He has called the visit a "super state visit", as the Chinese President will be receiving an unprecedented welcome from both the UK government and the royal family, including a ceremony with a 103-gun salute.
"Pragmatic cooperation between the two nations continues to deepen and expand as well, and the two sides have bridged their development strategies. Government agencies from our two nations will sign a range of agreements, and Chinese and British enterprises will also reach major deals covering such areas as infrastructure, financial cooperation, investment, new energy and creative industries," he said.
