BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- China has launched targeted measures in its poverty alleviation campaign. Starting from 2013, China has created profile for 89 million people in poverty, and sent over 130,000 working groups to impoverished villages.
Newer measures have also been introduced. For example, villages with access to internet and good logistics are selected to develop e-commerce. And pilot projects are established in over 30 counties to build PV power system to create more jobs.
To ease the conflict of meadow and farming land, there are also projects to grow forage plants on deserted lands. In the meantime, reforms on the evaluation, restriction and withdrawal mechanism of impoverished counties are underway.
