BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- The head of Japan's Komeito Party, Natsuo Yamaguchi, has begun a four-day visit to China. The Komeito Party is Japan's Liberal Democratic Party's junior coalition partner. On Tuesday, Yamaguchi made the first stop of his visit at the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Beijing.

The head of Japan's Komeito Party paid tribute to Chinese war heroes. With the museum as his first stop, Natsuo Yamaguchi said the arrangement was made in order to reflect on history, and that Japan will not forget history.

"History cannot be forgotten. Japan's path of peaceful development after World War Two can only be realized based on the efforts and help by the Chinese people, as well as on the great tolerance of the Chinese people. I hope that from now on, we can further reflect on the history, create a better future and realize the common development of both Japan and China. It is based on this notion that we have constantly vowed to avoid wartime tragedies from happening again," Yamaguchi said.

Yamaguchi toured the 67-hundred square meter exhibition hall, and carefully observed thousands of photographs and objects showing the atrocities of Japanese invaders, as well as the resistance from the Chinese side.

"In this exibition, we can see the Chinese people's cooperation with the world to fight against Japanese militarism. Meanwhile, we can also find frequent exchanges between leaders from China and Japan after the normalization of relations. I hope high-level meetings will continue, which will build the ties between the two countries," Yamaguchi said.

After the tour, he wrote "Never forget history, vow for peace and create a better future ".

He said he had brought with him a letter to President Xi Jinping from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

In the coming days, Yamaguchi will also meet with leaders from the CPC international department and the China-Japan Friendship Association and attend a Silk Road conference with other representatives from Asia.
