BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Russia's security services says it has foiled a "terrorist attack" on Moscow's public transport system by militants, some of whom were trained by Islamic State jihadists in Syria.
The National Anti-Terrorism Committee said Sunday it had detained around 10 people caught with bomb-making equipment and a homemade explosive device. The agency also pointed out at least three of the group underwent training in Islamic State camps in Syria. Their attack was planned for nearly two weeks after Russia launched its air campaign in Syria.
Russia said the airstrikes have significantly diminished the military capacity of the IS.
