BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Antonio Guterres, held a press conference on Monday after visiting a migrant reception center on the Greek island of Lesbos and meeting with the Greek prime minister.
The commissioner said he appreciated the humanist policy that Greece has launched for the refugees and migrants. He also called for a global effort to tackle the crisis that he says is an "European and global problem".
"I fully appreciated the humanist character of the Greek government policy. This is an European problem and this is a global problem," he said.
