BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- China has criticized Japan for threatening the world's nuclear non-proliferation efforts.
In a report on Japan's nuclear program, China's arms control authority says Japan has amassed a huge stockpile of nuclear material, despite the country having no reasonable civil demand. The 40-page report lists the stockpile of Japan's weapons grade plutonium, as well as its production capacity and actual demand.
China has long urged Japan to give a concrete, reasonable explanation for exceeding its demand for nuclear material.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said Japan should take concrete actions to ease international concerns over its large nuclear stockpile.
