BEIJING, Oct.10 (Xinhuanet) --Following a legal ruling, Bulgaria's last circus tiger has found sanctuary after an overnight rescue, while a U.S. zoo welcomed a second litter of snow-leopards born in captivity.
International animal rights organization FourPaws recently uploaded a video showing their rescue of the last remaining Bulgarian circus tiger, Varvara.
The organisation moved her to her new location in September - this following a country ban on wild animals kept in circuses, implemented in January, 2015.
FourPaws managed to free 12-year old Varvara after negotiating with her former owner and trainer.
The video shows Varvara being anaesthetised and checked out by a vet. She is then loaded onto a vehicle and transported the following day to her new home at the Tierart Big Cat Centre.
Meanwhile, two 4-month-old snow-leopard cubs made their public debut at an Illinois zoo on Wednesday.
Malaya and Daania are the second litter of the zoo's adult snow-leopard pair, 4-year old Sarani and 5-year old male Sabu.
