BEIJING, Oct.10 (Xinhuanet) --China has announced new plans to build a nationwide charging-station network to fulfil the power demands of increasing numbers of electric vehicles.
Guidelines issued by China's State Council aim to fulfil the power demands of 5 million electric vehicles by 2020. The network will cover residential areas, business districts, public spaces and inter-city highways.
New residential complexes will be required to build charging points or assign space for them. Public parking lots should have no less than 10 percent of parking spaces with charging facilities.
Also, the guidelines say there should be at least one public charging station for every 2,000 new energy vehicles.
