BEIJING, Oct.10 (Xinhuanet) --Iran has declined to comment on reports that Russian missiles targeting militants crashed in Iranian territory this week. An anonymous US official had claimed the missiles fired from the Caspian Sea crashed in western Iran on Wednesday, but did not provide details about where they might have come down or whether they caused any damage.
Russia's defense ministry has denied the claims, saying all its recent strikes have hit Islamic State targets in Syria. It comes as Turkish media report that a Russian warship passed through the Dardanelles strait on Friday en route to the Mediterranean.
Meanwhile, France's defense minister says the country's air force has launched a second air strike overnight in Syria against an Islamic State training camp. Jean-Yves Le Drian added that more strikes will follow.
"France carried out strikes overnight in Syria. They hit Islamic State targets in Raqqa. It is not the first time, it will not be the last time. We have carried out strikes because we know that there are training camps of foreign fighters whose mission is to come to France to carry out attacks," said Jean-Yves Le Drian, French Defense Minister.
