BEIJING, Oct.9 (Xinhuanet) --It was the turn of Louis Vuitton to command the runway at Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday - this following the horizontal appearance of "Game of Thrones" star Gwendoline Christie for Iris Van Herpen's collection.

The Foundation Luis Vuitton, designed by Frank Gehry, is decorated with neon projections and futuristic lights.

The show opened with a bubblegum pink leather jacket and silver-tone zippers, setting the tone for the brand's edgy looks.

Other garments included long, sequined dresses and skirts, leather jackets, and other separates, all with a tough-girl vibe.

Nevertheless, Vuitton made room for romantic pieces, including a white knee-length dress, toughened up by a leather vest with the label's insignia and silver buttons.

There were also new shapes for the brand's iconic handbags.

The avant-garde designer took her inspiration this time from tree roots. She mixed techniques such as laser-cutting, hand-weaving, and 3D printing for a result she calls "living architecture".

"The collection is inspired by living tree bridges in India. These are bridges that are not grown or built by human hands; they are really grown by the roots of trees. And these bridges are there already for hundreds of years, and they constantly change their shape and functionality therefore, and for me it was a really beautiful example of living architecture and potential for us in the future of it," Herpen said.

That translated into clothing made from a variety of materials and models lifted to new heights on platform heels.
