BEIJING, Oct. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel is in New Delhi to attend the third Indo-German inter-governmental consultations. Merkel's three-day visit that started Sunday includes a high-level delegation of cabinet ministers and business leaders.
Trade, economy, security, clean energy are among the topics that Indian and German leaders will discuss during Merkel's visit. Local media also reports that Merkel and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi may discuss resuming stalled India-EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations.
Germany is India's most important trading partner in Europe and both countries aim to boost two-way trade. Modi sought to draw German investment into the country, and facilitate manufacturing exchanges when he visited Germany earlier this year.
