BEIJING, Oct. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- South Korea's Unification Ministry says the DPRK will hand over a South Korean college student later today. Joo Won-moon is a US green card holder. He'd been a student at New York University.
In April, he was caught crossing into the DPRK from the Chinese side of the Yalu River. Joo admitted breaking the law, but said he'd been treated well. The DPRK's Red Cross said in a message to the South that Joo will be handed over at the Panmunjom truce village in the demilitarized zone.
The DPRK holds three other South Koreans, and a Korean-Canadian pastor, who was detained in February. South Korea has welcomed the expected release of Joo, and urged DPRK to free its other three nationals.
