BEIJING, Oct. 4 (Xinhuanet) – Taiwan has seen 20,241 dengue fever cases since May, but authority said it is now moderating.
The island's disease control center reported on Sunday that daily number of confirmed cases in most hitted southern city of Tainan, has decreased for 10 consecutive days, though the outbreak has been the worst in 17 years.
But still 5 more death were suspected to dengue fever in the past week while 53 patients still in Intensive Care Unit in hospital . A total of 16,879 patients have recovered. The mosquito-borne, potentially fatal disease strikes Taiwan every summer.
