BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the UK in October. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met his British counterpart Philip Hammond on Tuesday at the U.N.
Hammond said his country is preparing to welcome President Xi next month, and hopes the visit could strengthen relations. President Xi and his wife will be hosted at Buckingham Palace. The two countries are expected to discuss issues such as trade, finance, investment, infrastructure and cooperation in international and regional affairs. The last Chinese president to visit the UK was Hu Jintao in 2005.
