BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- President Xi's speech at the UN headquarters was themed as "Toward Win-win Partnership for Sustainable Development". He said the post-2015 development agenda adopted by the summit draws up a new blueprint for global development, and provides fresh opportunities for international development cooperation.
The Chinese president called for all countries to ensure equitable, open, all-around and innovation-driven development. He then called on the international community to redouble their collective efforts to build up the development capacities, improve the international environment for development, update and refresh partnerships and relations for development, and strengthen the coordination mechanisms for development.
When it comes to China's role in international development cooperation, President Xi said over the past 60-plus years, China has provided 166 countries and international organizations with nearly 400 billion yuan, and dispatched over 600 thousand workers in aiding the development of other countries.
