BEIJING, Sept. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Croatian authorities say the country has exceeded its limit for registering the refugees and is urging them to go through the country to where they are heading.
Meanwhile on Saturday morning, thousands of migrants and refugees arrived at the Macedonian village of Gevgelija. They waited at a temporary camp near the railway station, hoping to board trains or buses to take them to western Europe.
European Union Commissioner Johannes Hahn said after visiting the camp that it's important to relocate aid money to Turkey because many people leave from there to cross the Mediterranean Sea to Greece.
Also on Saturday, eight rescue operations picked up more than 2,200 people off the Libyan coast. The Italian coast guard was also coordinating the operations for 10 other boats in the perilous crossing from Libya to Italy.
