BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry says China and Japan should face the future based on history. The spokesperson's comments came Wednesday during a routine press briefing one day after Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was re-elected to a second term as president of the Liberal Democratic Party.
Hong Lei, Chinese FM spokesperson said:"A stable and healthy relationship between China and Japan is in line with the common interests of the two countries and peoples. China has always insisted on promoting China-Japan relations based on the four political documents and the spirit of 'learning from history and facing the future.'"
"China hopes Japan can work with China to properly deal with issues in bilateral relations and make concrete efforts to improve China-Japan ties. China also hopes Japan will continue on a path of peaceful development to play a constructive role in regional peace, stability and development."
