President Xi meets Jordanian king in Beijing

BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has held talks with visiting King Abdullah II of Jordan in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The two leaders exchanged views on bilateral ties, as well as other international and regional issues. The two countries have decided to establish a strategic partnership and push forward cooperation in all areas.

President Xi stressed China and Jordan should enhance communications between political parties, parliaments and non-governmental levels. Xi says China welcomes Chinese companies to make investments in Jordan and also encourages Chinese companies to import from Jordan.

King Abdullah II said that Jordan would like to work with China to co-build the "one-belt, one road" and push construction in energy, infrastructure and other sectors.

The two leaders signed a joint statement following the meeting and also witnessed the signing ceremony for a series of documents including ones involving the economy and education.
