BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping met with South Africa's President Jacob Zuma on Friday. One major topic discussed was the upcoming China-Africa summit, to be held in December in South Africa. President Xi vowed that China will work with African countries to ensure the summit is a success. The meeting came after China's V-day parade on Thursday.
President Xi said he welcomed Zuma's attendence at the event, saying it showed the South African government's commitment to world peace and justice, as well as China-South Africa ties. President Xi said the two countries should strengthen coordination to produce more beneficial results.
President Zuma said China had suffered great losses in the World Anti-Fascist War and made great contributions to the victory of the war. He also said South Africa highly values its friendship with China.
