BEIJING, Sept.3 (Xinhuanet) -- More than 12,000 troops are expected to participate in the parade, with hundreds of pieces of military equipment on display. The ground formations comprise 11 marching formations, 27 armed force formations and 10 air formations. The PLA band and chorus are also included. The parade and march-past will last for about 70 minutes.
More than 100 veterans from both the Communist Party of China and the Kuomintang who fought in the War of Resistance will appear in the parade for the first time. The average age of the veterans is 90 years old and the oldest veteran is 102 years old.

Meanwhile, China is also expected to showcase the most advanced version of its weaponry and military armaments. 500 armaments of 40 types and nearly 200 aircraft of more than 20 types are set to be displayed. All of the armaments displayed have been domestically developed, and more than 80 percent has never been presented to the public before.
For the first time, foreign armies are participating in a Chinese military parade. Nearly 1,000 foreign troops from 17 countries including Russia and Kazakhstan will march through Tiananmen Sqaure.
