Japanese PM will not attend events in China on Sept. 3rd

BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Japan has announced that its Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will not attend events in Beijing to mark the 70th anniversary of China's victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Agression and the end of World War Two on September the 3rd.

Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said on Monday that the decision was based on debates within parliament. He also said Abe had no plan to visit China before or after the events. But he said Japan will seek opportunities for the two leaders to talk.
