BEIJING, Aug. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- The deputy mayor of Tianjin has outlined the massive efforts put into place to ensure the injured are treated as quickly and efficiently as possible.
"After the accident, all hospitals in Tianjin opened an express channel to receive and treat patients. We also formed a team overnight with over 100 experts from 29 major hospitals. They are specialized in 16 medical areas. 120 emergency centers dispatched hundreds of ambulances to transfer the injured," said Cao Xiaohong, deputy mayor of Tianjin.
