BEIJING, Aug. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- It's been five days since the huge twin blasts occurred. Weather authorities warn of thunder showers this afternoon in the core area of the explosion site.
Meteorological experts say the rainfall will not pose a direct danger to human health, as it has been several days since the blast. But, if the rain dissolves the cyanide particles on the ground, underground water and soil will be contaminated. The local weather department has devised an artificial rain reduction plan to reduce possible harms to the environment.
So far, a total of 112 bodies have been found, and 95 people remain missing, including 85 firefighters. Among the dead, 24 have been identified, while 88 victims have not yet been identified. 698 people are still in the hospital, including 57 in critical or serious condition.
