BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Reunion Island officials say they have found more objects and sent them to a laboratory for examination.

The wing part found last week on the island is being examined by experts in southern France.

France launched a hunt for more wreckage from the plane off Reunion on Friday.

French authorities say the hunt will last for about a week. Foot patrols, helicopters and maritime units will also be involved in the search for plane parts.

"It's early days and they've got a lot of scenes to search yet, France is ramping up the search efforts around Reunion island the search area. According to military sources, there are about 120 by 40 kilometers of east coast of the island. Additional aircraft boats are now being used and French soldiers have also been deployed to comb the beaches and coastline. In the past nine days since that piece of wing debris which is now here in France being analyzed was found. Authority say dozens of pieces of debris has been found on the island although its not clear if they are from the plane," said CCTV correspondent Kate Parkinson.

"We have found objects but, as of now, we don't know if they are pieces belonging to an airplane or not. These objects that we found are small, sometimes the size of a walnut. They will be analyzed by experts - just like we did with the flaperon, which was sent to a laboratory - to see if it was indeed part of an airplane," said Dominique Sorain, prefect of Reunion Island.

"The mayor of Sant-Andrea also said that an inch by inch search of the coastline will begin on Monday. He also said that many families of passengers wishing to travel to the island would be welcomed by locals," said Kate Parkinson.
