Coalition hits ISIL 'car-bomb factory'

English.news.cn   2015-07-27 13:45:10

BEIJING, July 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Iraq's Defence Ministry has released video showing coalition air strikes on what it says was a weapons factory near Fallujah on Saturday.

Fallujah, which is under the control of the Islamic State group, is 65 kilometres west of Baghdad.

The ministry said the destruction of the facility would prevent Islamic State from making hundreds of car boms that kill civilians and Iraqi forces.

Meanwhile, Iraqi Defence Minister Khalid al-Obeidi inspected military operations in Ramadi where battles have been raging in a bid to retake the city from Islamic State militants.

The Defence Ministry announced early on Sunday that troops had retaken Ramadi stadium in the centre of the city.
