BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhuanet) -- The Governor-General of New Zealand, Jerry Mateparae, has met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman of the standing comittee of National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang in Beijing.
They agreed that China and New Zealand are at good relations, and expressed to promote cooperation between the two parliaments, cement understanding and friendship between the two peoples and inject new vitality to bilateral ties.
Mateparae is on a five-day visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. He and his wife visited Shanghai before arriving in the Chinese capital.
They will end their visit on Friday in Harbin, in the northern province of Heilongjiang, where Mateparae will hold meetings with local officials.
