BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhuanet) -- China's first electric plane has been delivered to its new owners in Shenyang, northeast China's Liaoning province. With a maximum take-off weight of 500 kilograms, and a cruising speed of 120 kilometers per hour, the aircraft can fly at an altitude of nearly 3,000 meters, with a flight cost of less than 20 yuan per hour! However, the eco-friendly aircraft retails at nearly one million yuan, which is about 160 thousand US dollars.
Another finding related to air travel, but this time it was found carved on rocks, about 10 thousand years ago! Archaeologists have discovered nearly 900 ancient carvings in a cave in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region. Most of the carvings cover hunting and herding, but then some are thought to even resemble planes or rockets.
You just can't slow down innovation and modern science, a smart artificial hand, made by a 3D printer; an air purification backpack; and musical instruments made of fruit are just some of the highlights of this year's Shenzhen Maker Week in South China's Guangdong province.
The five-day event is aimed at integrating global resources of innovation, and building up Shenzhen's image as a "City of Makers".
