BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhuanet) -- The eighth big storm on the western Pacific Ocean this year, typhoon Kujira, is slowly tracking north towards south China. Kujira developed from a tropical depression to a Typhoon on Sunday morning, and is continuing to strengthen.
Chinese weather authorities say it will probably hit landfall -- somewhere between Leizhou peninsula in Guangdong province and eastern part of Hainan island -- sometime on Monday night or Tuesday morning. Kujira has already brought rains to Hainan, which will last for about three days, to ease the drought there.
