BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Some villages in parts of Tibet, in Southwest China, remain cut off from the outside world, following the huge earthquake.
The counties of Nyalam, Jilung and Tingri near to the border with Nepal were heavily affected by the quake, and roads leading to villages in the region are still blocked by debris. Hundreds of people are thought to be trapped, with vital supplies running out.
Local authorities are preparing to blast their way through the landslide, using controlled explosions. But heavy snow and cold temperatures have been causing problems for the mission.
