BEIJING, April 29 (Xinhuanet) -- International aid has poured into Nepal as military transport aircraft from China, Germany, the U.S. and Singapore have crowded the Kathmandu International Airport. Rescue teams from around the world are waiting and ready to provide assistance to the victims.

"We've got, it's called "medikits". It gives supplies for 5,000 patients for two months, theoretically. So we've got some antibiotic pills and also some surgical material to do small wound care," a member of German medical team said.

"We will join the headquarters of Chinese rescue teams, which is being set up right now. Our assistance targets are mainly infants and children. We have prepared a large amount of baby formula and products, because when we made contact with local people, they told us those are things urgently needed," said the head of China Mingzhu rescue team.

The Nepalese Ministry of Home Affairs said over 450 thousand people have been displaced. About 2 million people are seriously affected in worst-hit quake zones.

Food, water, tents and medicines are all urgently needed. 1.4 million people are in dire need of a food supply. In the capital Kathmandu, some dairy shops have managed to reopen.

Electricity and water supplies haven't been fully restored. The government and military has set up over 20 makeshift shelters for the homeless.
