BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Today China begins its 2015 anti-corruption campaign, known as the 'Fox Hunt.' The initiative comes as the country steps up its efforts to locate and repatriate corrupt officials and fraudsters who have fled the country.
China's Ministry of Public Security announced the news during a meeting Tuesday afternoon, stating that it escorted 680 of those suspected of economic crimes back to China from 69 countries and regions in the second half of 2014, a number four and a half times that of 2013.
The ministry also said it will work closely with relevant departments to crack down on those producing illegal exit and entry certificates, as well as the transfer of money in bribes overseas.
