Premier Li meets with Sri Lankan FM

BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has met with visiting Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera in Beijing.

During their meeting on Friday afternoon, Li said China values its relations with Sri Lanka and is willing to work for closer bilateral ties. China will work to strengthen political trust and practical cooperation with Sri Lanka, and to improve the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Li said he hopes Sri Lanka will provide a sound legal environment for Chinese investment. The Premier also stressed that China is committed to working with neighbouring countries for common development and to safeguard regional peace and stability.

Samaraweera responded that his government is ready to work with China for common development and to raise bilateral cooperation to a new level. Sri Lanka welcomes more Chinese enterprises, and will facilitate their investment with good environment.
