BEIJING, Feb. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- For the creatures living in a Japanese aquarium, Valentine's Day presents came a few weeks early. The aquatic animals in Tokyo's Sunshine City aquarium, received some presents in the form of custom made hearts. And of course, there were some aquarium visitors to witness and share the sweet moments with them.
The Sunshine City aquarium in downtown Tokyo normally has feeding times for the public to view, but the caretakers decided to spice things up with a romantic touch.
For the largest tank, a diver hopped in with a bag shaped like a love letter covered in hearts, which contained what looks to be heart candy. But giving it to your own lover may not prove quite so popular, as it's actually heart shaped squid with red dye.
Nevertheless, the spotted eagle rays swimming about in the tank loved it so much, they were trying to steal it from the diver's pouch.
The aquarium emphasized it's not easy to make the heart shapes for the rays, or a heart shaped block of ice for their sea otter.
The aquarium's sea otter, Royce, also received his own heart shaped treat made of ice and it's led some male onlookers hoping they get gifts with as much emotion behind them.
The special exhibition of Valentine's Day shows is scheduled to run until February 14th.
