BEIJING, Dec. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- Apart from Indonesia, dozens of ships and aircraft from Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, the United States, and China are involved in the search.

China is dispatching one vessel and two planes to join in the recovery efforts. Two Air Force IL-76 carriers, carrying search equipment, are preparing to leave for Indonesia and a navy frigate is heading for waters near the crash site.

The US missile-guided destroyer USS Sampson and a combat ship with side-scan sonar have been sent to the zone.

Meanwhile, Singapore has sent two C-130 aircraft and four vessels to join the search operation. The Navy's three vessels have decided to change its original search course and are expected to reach the new search area on Wednesday.
